Using the Antibiogram Viewer Page

The antibiogram displays the total number of bacterial isolates tested against a range of antimicrobials and includes the percentage of bacterial isolates susceptible or resistant to each antimicrobial agent tested. It provides an analysis of cumulative antimicrobial susceptibility test data for use as a guide by clinicians, pharmacists, infection control personnel and microbiologists. The date range covered in the antibiograms can vary but is typically between six to twelve months.

To use antibiograms:

  1. Click the Info Center navigation button.
  2. Click the Antibiogram Viewer icon.
  3. From the Date Range drop-down list, select the timeframe. When Specific Date Range... is selected, you must also select the dates.
  4. If desired, change the following parameters:
    1. Test percentage for antibiotics – the minimum percentage of tests in which the antibiotic was tested
    2. Isolate number for organisms – the minimum number of times the organism was identified.
      • Note: It is recommended that there is a minimum of 30 isolates and a test percentage of 95% for accurate antibiograms.
    3. Sensitivity symbol – used to select the corresponding values from the laboratory feed. Multiple options can be selected by using CTRL-click.
  5. Select your criteria by clicking:
    1. Once – to include the item in your search. A green check mark appears.
    2. Twice – to exclude the item from the antibiogram. A red X appears. This feature only works when no other items in the category are marked with a check.
